The Stacked Energy Team
VP of Exploration and Production
Our VP of Exploration and Production is a senior energy executive
and professional geologist with over fifty years of experience in
conventional reservoir exploration and development within the
Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. His expertise has been mainly oil and/or natural gas reservoirs in the Cretaceous, the Jurassic, the Mississippian, and Devonian Leduc.
He graduated from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology
(SAIT) in 1968 as a Petroleum Technologist, and from the University of Calgary in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree in Geology.
He has held several technical and leadership positions within the oil
and gas industry including Regional Geologist at the Energy
Resources Conservation Board.
Western States Producing Company as Exploration Manager,
Southland Royalty Corporation as Senior Geologist, he completed a term at Kanata Gas & Oil as Exploration Manager, Foshiem
Petroleums Ltd. as President, Devnic Energy Ltd. as Vice President
of Exploration and Production, and Finally Petro-Reef Resources as President and CEO.
Lead Engineer for the Project
Our Drilling Engineering Consultant has in excess of 45 years experience in the oil and gas upstream sector. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in Mechanical Engineering and started his work career in the production, completions, reservoir and enhanced recovery divisions with Gulf Canada Resources. Later worked with Czar Resources as a Production Superintendent before moving to Anadarko Petroleums as the Canadian Division Engineer. He then started his own engineering consulting firm, Syndicated Ventures Inc, of which he was President.
Our Drilling Engineering Consultant worked as Drilling Manager for Morrison Petroleums while still at Syndicated. Returning to Syndicated, he has drilled and completed many wells and maintained well operations throughout Alberta and NE BC.
His experience evolves around vertical, directional and horizontal wells while having to manage Canadian oil and sour gas operations. He has also worked overseas in England and East Central Europe.
Our Drilling Engineering Consultant was a pioneer of performance mud motor drilling in a successful attempt to enable drilling through the Cynthia Fernie shales in record time thereby not encountering formation sloughing issues to require the setting of intermediate casing.
He developed and used a unique sand frac program to greatly
multiply the resulting well performances over conventional fracs in the Gordondale area. He also was one of the early promoters of the
Packers Plus stimulation tools for the Bakken sands resulting in
Globex Resources having a multiple increase in NPV. He had also
worked with geology to identify an undrilled location supported by unit water injection and drilled a 400 bopd well offsetting a depleted oil unit near Red Earth Creek.
He has assisted in the development of a successful pilot LNG plant
using patented proprietary technology for Cool Ventures. He has also successfully abandoned over a hundred wells, some requiring special AER waivers.
Our Land manager has 50+ years of experience in all facets of land
management and Indigenous relations in the producing regions of
western Canada in exploration, development, acquisitions and
divestitures. He is the president of Mineral Consulting Services Ltd (MCS). MCS was established in 1994 and has been successfully active in the Land Services sector for the oil industry for 28 years. He is an active member of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Landmen (CAPL) and holds a P. Land Designation.
